This year, Microsoft is partnering with NASA to bring you the\u00a0Day of Data, and to celebrate Spreadsheet Day. They&#8217;ll explore how data powers astronauts, space missions, and our world.<\/p>\n<p>In this video, Johnnie Thomas, from Microsoft, and Bill Jelen (Mr. Excel), talk about the upcoming Day of Data events.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/byjp1GVnYjs?rel=0\" width=\"450\" height=\"283\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>October 14th Talk to an Astronaut<\/h3>\n<p>The first live event is today, October 14th, at 10 AM Pacific Time. Students will have the chance to hear from an astronaut, a propulsion engineer, and an astrophysicist!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NASA Astronaut Stephen G. Bowen<\/li>\n<li>Erik Lopez, a propulsion engineer from NASA<\/li>\n<li>Christine Reilly, an astrophysicist from Blue Origin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They&#8217;ll discuss how they use data and the impact that data has had on their job.<\/p>\n<p>The event details are on <a href=\"https:\/\/education.skype.com\/p\/07-october-14-10am-pt-celebrate-day-of-data-with-nasa-blue-origin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this Skype in the Classroom page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Data of Data Student Resources<\/h3>\n<p>Parents and teachers can find <a href=\"https:\/\/education.microsoft.com\/en-us\/resource\/c4db6ddd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day of Data resources on the Microsoft website<\/a>.
