And a very Happy 45th Anniversary to VisiCalc!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Spreadsheet Day Year 15<\/h3>\n<p>The first Spreadsheet Day was on October 17, 2010, so this is our 15th year of spreadsheet celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>And we celebrate world-wide, so it&#8217;s\u00a0 &#8220;Spreadsheet Day&#8221; \u2705 , not &#8220;National Spreadsheet Day&#8221; \u274c.<\/p>\n<h3>How It Started<\/h3>\n<p>Back in February 2010, I <a href=\"https:\/\/contexturesblog.com\/archives\/2010\/02\/15\/we-need-a-spreadsheet-day\/\">proposed that we celebrate Spreadsheet Day<\/a>, and asked for suggestions for an appropriate date.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2010, I set up a poll, based on the suggested dates, and the winning date was October 17th.<\/p>\n<p>That date is a tribute to VisiCalc, the first spreadsheet for personal computers. It was released on October 17th, 1979, according <a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlo.com\/visicalc\/visicalc4.html\">to Peter Jennings\u2019 notes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Note<\/strong>: To read more about how Spreadsheet Day got started, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/spreadsheet-day.com\/blog\/about\/\">go to the About page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Celebrate<\/h3>\n<p>How to you celebrate Spreadsheet Day?
