While you wait for the big day to arrive, here are my top 3 movie choices, to get you in the Spreadsheet Day spirit.

These movies have spreadsheets (or accounting) in their plots. and good ratings from critics and audiences.

So, grab a bucket of popcorn, then settle on the couch, to watch one of these movies online, or on television.

 

1. Moneyball (2011, Sports Drama)

Based on a true story, this movie shows how the Oakland Athletics used statistics and spreadsheets to build a competitive baseball team, on a limited budget.

In this clip from Moneyball, Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) and Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) come up with a new way of evaluating baseball players, using Sabermetrics.

2. The Big Short (2015, Comedy-Drama)

This film tells the story of the 2008 financial crisis and the few investors who saw it coming, using spreadsheets and financial analysis to navigate the complex mortgage market.
