On Wednesday, October 14th, the Toronto Excel User Group (TEUG)  had an online Spreadsheet Day celebration, focussed on the history of Excel. There were 3 renowned spreadsheet experts on the panel:

  • Rob Collie is C.E.O. and Founder of P3 (Power Pivot Pro). Led the BI-focused team within Microsoft Excel and later shaped Power Pivot v1.
  • David Monroy – Senior Program Manager on Excel team at Microsoft. Has worked on data types from Power BI, formula errors, file performance, and more.
  • The panel discussion was interesting and informative, and if you missed the event, you can watch this recording from the TEUG YouTube channel

On October 17th, a space-themed Excel visualization challenge, was announced, and you have until November 2nd to submit your entry.

The contest is part of the Day of Data / World Spreadsheet Day that was organized by Microsoft and NASA.

Then, after you enter, or even if you don’t enter, vote for your favourite entries on the Day of Data discussion space.
