Mainframe Spreadsheets Used Before VisiCalc
While digging into the history of electronic spreadsheets, I found an article by Ken Dakin, who was the programmer for Works Record System, a mainframe spreadsheet.
His History of Spreadsheets lists some of the mainframe spreadsheets that were in use before VisiCalc, the first spreadsheet for PC users.
Works Record System, a 3-D spreadsheet, was used at ICI from 1974-2001, and the article includes excerpts from the user manual and a screenshot.
